Description

If you're feeling stuck in life, in a job, in grief or in the same routine every day, Isaiah 43:19 was first spoken to people who felt the same way. God told exiles in Babylon that he was doing a new thing and would make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Pastor Kaloma says the first step is to look up from what holds you, notice what God is already growing, and take part in it. In this sermon, preached in 2025 in our series on core values, Pastor Kaloma Smith of UAMEZ Church in Palo Alto, California preaches on Isaiah 43:19 and shows how being made in God's image makes every person creative. Questions this sermon answers What should a Christian do when feeling stuck in life? Look up from the screen and the problem, pay attention to small signs of growth, and act on the nudge to forgive or to try something new. What does Isaiah 43:19 mean? God spoke it to Israel in exile, promising new deliverance, with a way for guidance and rivers for provision. Does God still do new things today? Pastor Kaloma says God's work is present tense, and many people can name a time they got through and still can't explain how. Am I creative if I'm not an artist?
