Description
When your plans change every day and the news keeps getting heavier, learning how to deal with anxiety starts with where you take it. Paul wrote about anxiety while he was a prisoner, and his answer was to bring everything to God in prayer and thanksgiving. God's own peace then guards your heart and your mind, and you turn your attention to helping someone else. In this sermon, Pastor Kaloma Smith of UAMEZ Church in Palo Alto, California preaches on Philippians 4:6-8 during the first shelter-in-place week in the Bay Area and shows what Paul's prayer from custody means for a crowded home and a calendar that keeps changing. Questions this sermon answers How do you deal with anxiety? Bring everything to God in prayer, the small things included, and give thanks while you wait. How do you cope with anxiety? Treat prayer as rest in God and time with him, and sometimes the relationship matters more than the answer. What does the Bible say about anxiety? Philippians 4:6-8 says to bring every need to God instead of carrying it anxiously, and promises that his peace will guard your heart and mind. How do you stop overthinking and anxiety?
