How to Have Courage in Hard Times

Description

If a layoff, a career that no longer fits or a hard conversation has you scared to take the next step, this sermon is about how to have courage in hard times. God sent Ananias to pray for Saul, the man who had come to Damascus to arrest believers, and Ananias went. Pastor Smith says courage comes from confirming what God has told you and then stepping out, even when the evidence in front of you doesn't match what God has said. In this sermon, preached in 2020 during the first months of shelter-in-place, Pastor Kaloma Smith of UAMEZ Church in Palo Alto, California preaches on Acts 9:10-19 and shows how one ordinary disciple's courage changed history. Questions this sermon answers How do you find courage to step into the unknown? Bring your questions to God, let him confirm the next step, then go, the way Ananias questioned God and still obeyed. What if the facts don't line up with what God told me? Pastor Smith says believers live by the reality God has spoken even when the evidence around them says otherwise. Do I need a title or position to make a difference? No. Ananias had no position, yet God used him to heal Saul, who became the apostle Paul. Who was Ananias in Acts 9?
