Description

You can live in one of the busiest places in the country, know everybody's business online, and still come home feeling lonely. To deal with loneliness, start by stopping, then tell God honestly what you feel and bring it to the One who loves you without conditions. David did exactly that at Ziklag, when his home was burned and his own men turned against him. In this sermon, Pastor Kaloma Smith of UAMEZ Church in Palo Alto, California preaches on 1 Samuel 30:1-8 and Psalm 142 and shows how David found strength in the Lord when he was alone. Questions this sermon answers How do you deal with loneliness when it feels like nobody gets you? Stop, get honest with God about what is going on in your heart, and bring it to the God who loves you without conditions. Can you feel lonely in a crowd? Yes, because loneliness comes from what is happening in your heart, not from how many people are around you. Why is loneliness so common in Silicon Valley? Many of us moved here for school or work, and we use our phones and feeds in place of real relationships. What did David do when he felt alone? He stopped and prayed before he chased after what he had lost, and he found his strength in the Lord.
