Visiting a new church can feel uncertain, especially if it’s been a while since you’ve attended or if you’re exploring faith for the first time. At UAMEZ Church in Palo Alto, we want to make your first visit as comfortable and welcoming as possible. Here’s everything you need to know.

When Are Services?

We gather every Sunday morning for worship. Our services include a blend of contemporary and traditional worship music, a relevant message from Scripture, and time for prayer and fellowship. Plan to arrive a few minutes early so our greeters can welcome you and help you get settled.

Where Are You Located?

UAMEZ Church is located at 3549 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, CA 94306. We’re easily accessible from anywhere in the Bay Area, including Mountain View, Menlo Park, Redwood City, and East Palo Alto. There is parking available on site and on nearby streets.

What Should I Wear?

Come as you are! Some of our members dress up, and others come in jeans and sneakers. There is absolutely no dress code at UAMEZ Church. We care far more about you being here than what you’re wearing.

Do You Have Programs for Kids?

Yes! We offer children’s programming so kids can learn about God’s love in an age-appropriate, fun environment while parents enjoy the main service. Our team is committed to creating a safe, nurturing space for your children.

What Denomination Is UAMEZ?

UAMEZ stands for University African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. The AME Zion denomination, often called the Freedom Church, was founded in 1796 and has a rich history of standing for justice, equality, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We’re part of this historic tradition while also embracing a fresh, contemporary approach to worship and community life in Silicon Valley.

How Can I Get Involved?

Beyond Sunday worship, UAMEZ offers several ministries and community groups where you can connect, grow, and serve. Visit our Ministries page to explore current programs, or speak with our pastor or ministry leaders after any Sunday service. We’d love to help you find your place in our church family.
