We are thrilled to announce that University AME Zion Church (UAMEZ) has been named a 2026 National Grantee. This recognition affirms the work God is doing through our church in Palo Alto and across the Bay Area, and it opens new doors for us to serve our community with even greater impact.
What This Grant Means
Being selected as a National Grantee is a testament to our church’s commitment to community transformation, spiritual growth, and social justice in Silicon Valley. This grant will provide resources to expand our ministries, deepen our community outreach programs, and continue building a church that serves everyone — regardless of background, age, or life stage.
A Legacy of Service in Palo Alto
For over 100 years, University AME Zion Church has been a pillar of faith and service at 3549 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto. From our roots in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion tradition — known as the Freedom Church — we have stood for justice, love, and the transformative power of the Gospel. This grant is the next chapter in that story.
How We’ll Use These Resources
The grant will support several key initiatives including expanded youth and young adult programming, community outreach events throughout the Bay Area, leadership development opportunities, and enhanced worship experiences. Our vision is to be a church that meets people where they are and walks with them toward spiritual wholeness.
